Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) Mobile Vaccination Unit
Debbie sponsored and successfully received approval to use Hays COunty's American Rescue Plan Recovery Act (ARPA) funds to support the Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) Mobile Vaccine Facility. The goal was to improve vaccination rates, especially in vulnerable communities, and reach those who couldn't make it to the clinic. The mobile vaccine acted as a moving billboard to promote healthcare services for Hays County residents.
Gerling Fast Vac Mobile Vaccine Facility
Debbie received approval for an agreement between Hays County and San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District (SMCISD) to purchase a Gerling Fast Vac Mobile Facility. The facility provided immunization and vaccine services, along with public health outreach and education, primarily for children and families in San Marcos and Hays County.
State Health Services (DSHS) Grant (COVID-19)
Debbie sponsored an item that was approved in Court that ensured funds be allocated toward COVID-19 response, including the purchasing of tests, protective equipment, and machines that purify and disinfect the air.
